From Elite To Judge To Coach

Meet Coach Kristine

Kristine (Johnson) Stepanovich, a Southern California native, discovered gymnastics at nine years old and was competing within a year. At 13 she reached the Elite level, and the following year she joined the U.S. Junior National Team — going on to represent the United States in international competition in Cuba and France, the Olympic Sports Festival, and national meets across the country.

Today, Kristine channels that experience into coaching. A USA Gymnastics Professional Member with more than fifteen years of coaching experience and an NAWGJ-certified judge for five years, she believes deeply in the power of positive feedback and coaches the “whole athlete” — nurturing the mental and emotional side of the sport alongside the physical.

Our Mission

Why SkillTweak exists

Skill Tweak was born from a simple observation: the traditional gym-centric coaching model has limits. Athletes grow when they have access to diverse coaching perspectives and honest, supportive feedback — a second set of expert eyes that enhances the work they're already doing with their home gym.

SkillTweak provides that: routine reviews and scoring from a judge's perspective, choreography built to score, and mentoring that meets each gymnast exactly where they are. It's about celebrating every gymnast's journey and giving them the support they need to shine.
